We built
Judix
because
every lawyer
deserves
better
research
tools.
Crores of judgments. One intelligent search. Built for every lawyer in India.
We started with a question: what if finding the right case was as easy as asking a colleague who had read everything? We are building that colleague.
Judix didn't start as a product. It started as a frustration — with how hard it still was to find the right judgment in a country that produces thousands of them every month.
How it started
Aditya and Shivam weren't lawyers. But they had enough lawyer friends to know one thing - research was eating them alive.
They'd watch them hunched over laptops late into the night, jumping between tabs, copy-pasting citations, digging through PDFs for a single paragraph that might change the outcome of a case. Smart people doing work that felt like it shouldn't be that hard in 2024. It bothered them in the way that only a real problem can.
So they did what any two engineers with a laptop and too much caffeine would do. They started building. The first version of Judix was written in a hostel room in Patna — no office, no funding, no team. Just a shared conviction that India's lawyers deserved better tools and a corpus of judgments they had painstakingly scraped together over weeks. It wasn't pretty. But it worked well enough to show to a few lawyer friends, who showed it to a few more, and suddenly the feedback loop had a life of its own.
The Government of Bihar backed them before most people had heard of Judix. That early belief meant everything — it gave them the runway to stop shipping patches and start building something real.
Today the hostel room is a memory. The team has grown, the corpus has crossed a crore judgments, and lawyers across India are using Judix every day. But the reason they built it hasn't changed at all.
